Dusty Tires YouTube channel hits 20,000 views

The Dusty Tires YouTube channel, a companion to Dusty Tires blog and website, has surpassed 20,000 views in about a year and a half.

While that sounds like a lot, it’s not uncommon for a single YouTube video to hit that number — and much higher — in just a few hours. Obviously, none of my videos have “gone viral.”

But I’m still marking this down as an accomplishment. Since starting my YouTube channel from scratch in July 2025, I have posted 50 full length videos, ranging from 10 to 20+ minutes in length, and 56 short videos, usually under 2 minutes each.

The videos are based around a simple premise — I get into my car and record the drive to somewhere I find interesting. I provide information and history about places along the way. Also, I try to find something unique or unexpected about the places I find.

I’ve featured towns including Alexandria, Baltimore, Bridgeport, Buckeye Lake, Cambridge, Chesterhill, Circleville, Granville, Hartford, Hebron, Johnstown, Kirkersville, McConnelsville, Mount Vernon, Newark, New Concord, New Lexington, Old Washington, Outville, Pataskala, Millersport, Shawnee, Springfield, Utica and others, and traveled on many roads, including the full length of U.S. 40 across Ohio.

The videos are typically companions to online articles in the Dusty Tires blog, which has garnered 22,800 views from more than 15,800 visitors since March 2023. I have published 283 posts in that time.

The most popular full-length videos have been:

Among short videos, the most-watched have been:

Mount Vernon Dog Fountain, Oct. 23, 2025, 1,297 views;
Ye Olde Mill at Utica, Ohio, Oct. 15, 2025, 1,030 views; and
Auburn Auto Museum, Nov. 18, 2025, 1,014 views.
