Foy’s Halloween and Variety Store is a former five-and-dime store where it’s Halloween 365 days a year.

At Foy’s, you can browse a huge selection of original Halloween costumes, from superheroes to traditional witches, ghosts and monsters — and much more. The store claims to have the largest selection of Halloween costumes in the state.

Foy’s has thousands of rental and sale costumes, as well as costume hats, shoes, wigs, masks, makeup and a huge variety of accessories and merchandise from toys to party supplies.

They also carry a large supply of Halloween decorations, lighting, yard art, special effects gadgets and more.

But Foy’s has not always been the Halloween mecca that it is today. It was opened in 1929 by Albert Foy as a variety store. His son Norman took over the store in the 1940s, and by the time his son Mike became a partner in 1978, Foy’s was already becoming a costume store.

There are actually several separate Foy’s retail operations — a variety store, kids’ costume store, adult costume store, haunted house and special effects store, restaurant and haunted museum.

The costume specialty shop is located at 18-20 W. Main St. in Fairborn (937) 878-0671. Connect on Facebook.
