Founded in 1930, Weldon’s Ice Cream Factory in Millersport has been a family destination in the Buckeye Lake region for generations.
Rudy and Elizabeth Weldon bought the former hotel in 1929 and converted it into the ice cream factory the following year.
Years later, many of the ice cream flavors offered then are still the same, but toppings have evolved. Their old-fashioned ice cream is created and sold on site.
Flavors include standards like Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Butter Pecan, Cookies & Cream, as well as more adventurous flavors like Toffee Butterscotch Fudge, Blue Moon, Cotton Candy, Dirty Turtle and Sandbar Crunch, plus many more.

Weldon’s features original wooden booths, counter and stools as well as a vintage jukebox that still plays 45 rpm records of classic songs from the 1950s and ’60s. Outside, an expansive porch allows customers to enjoy their ice cream while watching the activity at a nearby marina on Buckeye Lake.
Weldon’s is located at 2887 Canal Drive, Millersport (740) 467-2400. Find more ice cream shops around Ohio in Dusty Tires.
